My client is keen to secure the services of a suitably qualified Technical Accountant to lead the technical accounting aspects of our Finance Transformation project. This role is integral to the development and transition to Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) from our current on-premise Open Accounts systems. As the main membership organisation for their profession, they are an excellent employer who work on a hybrid basis, two days per week in their Central London offices, three days from home.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Ensure that the D365 F&O system setup and internal control framework are delivered to meet the reporting requirements of a Trade Union/membership organisation, Charity, and Trading Subsidiaries.
- Oversee the production of the Group VAT return under partial exemption VAT rules.
- Ensure that the system can deliver and account for international transactions, reflecting our ambitions to reach an international audience.
- Utilise your expertise in Investments and Pensions to contribute to the project.
- Develop, maintain, and evaluate effective control frameworks to support the organisation's financial integrity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hold a CCAB accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Experience in producing Statutory Accounts using FRS102 and SORP.
- Expert knowledge of VAT Partial Exemption Rules and in the preparation of VAT and Corporation Tax returns.
- Experience in developing, maintaining, and evaluating effective control frameworks.
- Strong technical accounting skills with a strategic mindset.
