  • Location: Near Woking
  • Job Type: Part-time, Permanent, Term Time Only (38.6 weeks, including 3 INSETS)
  • Hours: Up to 27.08 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Higher Learning Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team and contribute to the learning and attainment of our pupils. The ideal candidate will promote independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion, providing support to pupils to help them access the curriculum and experience a sense of achievement.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Support class teachers to enhance pupil achievement and foster an environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher, particularly for pupils with SEND.
  • Encourage the participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policies.
  • Organise and manage teaching space and resources.
  • Observe pupil performance and report to the class teacher.
  • Supervise classes temporarily in the teacher's absence.
  • Utilise ICT skills to advance pupils' learning.
  • Contribute to planning and preparation of learning activities using your expertise.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with class teachers to improve pupil learning and attainment.
  • Experience in promoting pupil independence and managing classroom behaviour.
  • Competency in using ICT to support teaching and learning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents/carers, and professionals.
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and commitment to pupil safety and wellbeing.
  • Willingness to undertake professional development to improve personal effectiveness.
