Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Manager with a strong background in construction to join our team. The Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring financial control, contract management, and adherence to company policies and industry regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and negotiation skills to manage project budgets, optimize costs, and maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management:
Review and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Manage contract variations and claims.

Financial Management:
Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs.
Monitor project cash flow and ensure timely invoicing and payments.

Risk Management:
Identify and assess commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure adherence to risk management policies and procedures.

Procurement:
Oversee the procurement process, including tendering, evaluation, and selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
Negotiate favorable terms and conditions to achieve cost savings.

Project Planning and Control:
Collaborate with project managers to ensure commercial considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
Monitor project progress and performance against commercial objectives.

Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Address and resolve commercial issues and disputes promptly and effectively.

Reporting:
Prepare and present regular commercial reports to senior management.
Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis and project performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial management within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC, FIDIC).
Proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in construction management software and financial reporting tools.
Professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) are highly desirable.
