Role Overview:
We are seeking an Estimator to join our team in Birmingham. This role will involve working both in the office and on-site, with travel to UK-wide sites across England and Wales. Our projects focus on the healthcare sector, and we are looking for someone with a background in construction or refurbishment who can thrive in live environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for healthcare sector projects, including hospitals, homes, rehabilitation units, and various facility areas.
Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project requirements.
Collaborate with the Intermediate/Senior Estimator and estimating team to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Work with project teams to develop and refine project scopes and budgets.
Utilize modern estimating software and techniques.
Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Prepare tender documents and submissions in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist in the negotiation of contracts and procurement of materials and services.
Candidate Profile:
Open to all levels of Estimators; experience in construction or refurbishment is ideal.
Preferably candidates who are comfortable with modern technology and software that are looking to develop their career in the longer term.
Ability to work in live environments, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel to sites across England and Wales.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or refurbishment sector.
Knowledge of healthcare sector projects is highly desirable.
Proficiency in modern estimating software and tools.
Strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
