Exterior Lighting Design Principal Engineer - 0880 - £30.78/hr PAYE rate
Jonathan Lee Recruitment is looking for an experienced and collaborative Exterior Lighting Design Engineer to join our client's inclusive and friendly team. This is a 12-month contract role based in Cranfield that comes with a rate of £30.78 per hour (PAYE). Inside IR35.
As a Exterior Lighting Design Engineer, you will carry out design activities related to innovative technologies, cost optimisation and breakthrough ideas related to Battery EV vehicles, focusing on future vehicles as well as current production.
In your first few weeks in this Exterior Lighting Design Engineer role, you can expect to:
- Study technical solutions (benchmark, FMEA, design parts and systems etc.) and build business cases (cost analysis)
- Manage stakeholders and lead the development of supplier-produced parts to implement design changes to improve product competitiveness
- Manage in-development parts and suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery targets
- Travel is required to other facilities, for build support and design reviews, as well as to suppliers for part inspections and technical meetings.

- Experience in exterior lighting system design
- Knowledge of a CAD system; Siemens NX or similar and Teamcenter
- Time management and prioritisation skills to confidently manage multiple projects within set deadlines
