HR Generalist

Reed HR are delighted to be partnering with a leading logistics company based in Southampton who are seeking an HR Generalist to join their team on a fixed-term contract basis.

The HR Generalist will be a key player in delivering an excellent HR service whilst working closely alongside the HR Business Partner.

This role will operate across all areas of the employee lifecycle including enhancing the employee experience through onboarding, process improvement, policy guidance, and employee relations management.

Our client is seeking an experienced HR Generalist from an agile HR function who enjoys a varied and blended role.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all HR-related queries.
  • Manage a range of employee relations cases, including grievance and disciplinary actions.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment for various roles within the organisation, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Oversee employee performance management processes and provide guidance to managers.
  • Administer HR-related documentation, such as contracts of employment and amendments.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide support for training and development initiatives.
  • Engage in HR projects and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the HR function.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and employee relations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
