Do you have a passion for helping young people overcome challenges and succeed? Are you experienced in providing pastoral and behaviour support in a secondary school environment? LTF Recruitment is excited to be working with a secondary school in Redbridge, London, looking for a proactive and compassionate Pastoral & Behaviour Mentor to join their team.

This role involves working closely with students across KS3 and KS4, focusing on providing the pastoral care and behavioural guidance they need to excel both in and outside the classroom. You will play an integral part in the school's well-being and behaviour support system, helping to ensure students feel supported and able to thrive.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students' emotional, social, and behavioural development, providing targeted interventions to those in need
  • Offering 1:1 mentoring to students facing challenges, helping them to develop self-confidence and manage their emotions
  • Working with staff to create a supportive and positive school culture, promoting good behaviour and engagement
  • Helping implement behaviour plans and providing regular updates on student progress
  • Offering guidance to students on how to manage conflict and develop positive relationships
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCo, and pastoral staff to ensure each student's individual needs are being met

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in a secondary school or with young people in a similar setting
  • A deep understanding of pastoral care and experience in behaviour management
  • The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting the emotional well-being of young people

Desirable Experience:

  • Working with students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs or SEN
  • Experience in conflict resolution or restorative practices
