Production Manager
An established, ambitious growing Aerospace Manufacturing business based near Manchester has set itself some ambitious but realistic targets to meet in the next 2-3 years and because of this, they are looking to hire a Production Manager to allow the business to do this by ensuring that all production and operational processes are efficient to do so.
As their Production Manager, you will be responsible for:
- A production team of around 30 people, with planned headcount growth in the future.
- Ensuring labour is in place for scheduled works to be completed on time and in full in accordance with production guidelines.
- Take ownership of scheduling works day to day to ensure productions targets are met.
- Review factory efficiency and make any changes necessary to improve them.
- Ensure material availability matched production schedules with a focus on controlling costs and running a lean inventory.
To be successful in this role as a Production Manager you will need:
- To have worked as a Production manager previously within a manufacturing environment.
- Be up to date with Kanban and 5S knowledge
- Proven experience in leading teams to deliver a high percentage of OTIF to your customers
- Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement knowledge
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of MRP systems
- Experience of working with sheet metals would be a distinct advantage.
