Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement innovative and engaging English curricula.
  • Mentor and support a team of dedicated English teachers, promoting professional development and excellence in teaching practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to support and challenge all learners.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school's overall vision and objectives.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have extensive experience teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Proven track record of success in raising student achievement in English.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for educational excellence.
