Join our team as Systems Tester.

We are looking for someone with excellent IT skills to join the Assessment Systems team within the E&T department. You will be responsible for testing new system releases, managing, and fixing issues. You will be working with key stakeholders to ensure the best possible experience for our students before, during and after their examinations. We strive for the highest standards, to deliver a world class global qualification.

The role holder will ensure releases are managed appropriately; will support assessment delivery before and during exam sessions; and will support the implementation of processes and procedures to ensure the smooth functioning of assessment. They will support the identification and resolution of system issues, working with ICAEW's suppliers.

Overall purpose of the role of Systems Tester

This role is responsible for the administration and implementation of assessment systems testing operations, reporting to the Assessment Systems Manager. The role will also support assessment delivery and the development of systems processes and issue resolution.

The role holder will ensure releases are managed appropriately; will support assessment delivery before and during exam sessions; and will support the implementation of processes and procedures to ensure the smooth functioning of assessment. They will support the identification and resolution of system issues, working with ICAEW's suppliers.

Systems Tester Responsibilities include:

  • Be responsible for delivering testing cycles for key ICAEW assessment systems, working with ICAEW suppliers and key staff. Be responsible for drafting test plans, ensuring they are thorough and deliverable within deadlines. Undertake system testing in line with test plans.
  • Manage releases for key systems including Assessment Master and Assessor, with a focus on testing. Manage and maintain a test issue log.
  • Manage defects lists and resolutions, liaising with ICAEW's commercial suppliers.
  • Review testing processes and make recommendations to update and improve them.
  • Administer the setup and configuration of processes relating to ICAEW's live assessment delivery.
  • Support senior team members with the planning and delivery of training to ICAEW staff.
  • Specific duties will vary from time to time in line with the business needs.

Systems Tester Candidate Profile

  • Excellent IT skills, including use of a range of IT systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently to deadlines.

Desirable

  • Demonstrable experience of challenging process and enabling improvement.
  • Experience managing release testing.
