Community Regeneration Manager

Role Overview:

Join our dynamic Regeneration & Development team as a Community Regeneration Manager. In this pivotal role, you'll lead the delivery of transformative council-led development programmes, including complex regeneration schemes. Your work will directly contribute to new housing supply, community assets, and capital receipts, all while managing key relationships with stakeholders and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate regeneration projects from inception through to delivery, ensuring rigorous project management and adherence to best practices in risk management, value for money, and performance evaluation.
  • Funding and Financial Management: Identify, secure, and manage funding for regeneration activities, ensuring timely and appropriate expenditure and compliance with financial requirements. Work closely with the finance department and external funders to maintain financial integrity.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Drive consultation and engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including residents, to ensure community co-production in all projects. Lead the development of communication strategies to effectively convey project goals and progress.
  • Policy and Compliance: Stay abreast of local and national regeneration policies and regulations, applying this knowledge to projects to ensure compliance and optimise outcomes.
  • Event Management: Organise and manage events such as community consultations, PR activities, and focus groups within budgetary constraints to enhance community engagement and performance management.
  • Reporting and Governance: Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for Full Council, Cabinet, and other committees. Provide support to senior officers and members, responding to enquiries and leading follow-up actions as required.
  • Flexible Working: You will be expected to work flexibly, including attending evening and weekend meetings, visiting building sites, and working across various locations as necessary.

About You:

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Degree level qualification or a minimum of two years of project management experience.
  • Desirable: Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMI).

Knowledge & Skills:

  • A deep understanding of how regeneration initiatives can address community challenges such as deprivation, safety, and cohesion.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex regeneration projects, community engagement, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong familiarity with public sector procurement processes, local government compliance, and successful bid writing.
  • Ability to liaise with senior managers and elected members, with proven influence in decision-making processes.
