Early Career Teacher (ECT)

Are you ready to kick-start your teaching career? If so then Zest Education are offering an Early Career Teacher (ECT) position to a motivated and hardworking person who wishes to explore their career and goals. This position is based in a friendly primary school in Rednal. This is a full-time position, and you will be expected to teach across KS2. You will have the opportunity to develop your career further and gain professional skills from experienced educators at the school.

As an ECT at the wonderful school, you must be able to motivate and inspire the students as well as deliver engaging lessons and activities.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Organise and teach lessons in accordance with the plans, curriculum, and work schemes of the school.
  • Establish high standards that encourage, inspire, and test students.
  • Create specialised teaching strategies and regularly implement them in the classroom.
  • Create an environment that is secure, meaningful, and engaging for students.
  • Create a structure for discipline and good order in accordance with the school conduct policy.
  • Effectively communicate with senior leaders and parents/caregivers about the accomplishments and welfare of the students.
  • Take advantage of any professional development opportunities and relevant meetings offered by the institution.
  • Make sure that your colleagues working with you are suitably engaged in promoting learning.

You must...

  • Possess a recognised teaching qualification or qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Have a thorough understanding of the national curriculum and a variety of teaching strategies.
  • Outstanding writing, active listening, and vocal communication skills.
  • Have relevant experience in an educational setting or assisting/teaching children.
  • Have an enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
