SEND Case Officer – Make a Difference in Children's Lives!

Myn is proud to recruit for a dedicated SEND Case Officer on behalf of our long-term client in the South East of England. If you're passionate about supporting children and families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), this is the role for you!
Role Purpose:
As a SEND Case Officer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) from initial application through to annual reviews. Your person-centred approach will be key in coordinating services across education, health, and care to create holistic support plans for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND, acting as their key point of contact.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to inform the development of EHCPs.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies to ensure appropriate educational provision.
- Facilitate engagement with educational settings to support and advise on local SEND offers.
- Use data and feedback to drive service improvements and enhance the quality of plans.
- Participate in annual reviews, ensuring timely and high-quality assessments.
- Travel across Surrey and occasionally outside for meetings with families and educational settings.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Relevant degree or vocational qualification at Level 4.
- Significant experience working with vulnerable children, particularly those with SEND.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Code of Practice and Children and Families Act 2014.
- Familiarity with Surrey's SEND policy and the Local Offer.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective relationship building.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources, adhering to public funding guidelines.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and database management systems.
- Valid DBS check is required.
