Project Engineer

Opportunity for a Project Engineer to work for a growing business that is continually undertaking improvement work and introducing new technology and processes to its site. The role is an initial 12 month fixed term contract with scope for it to become permanent for the right person.

Varied work: There can be anything up to 30 projects happening at any time which could be focused on manufacturing processes, utilities, automation, or facilities providing you with a wide range of work to maintain your interest.

Modern technology: The company has invested somewhere in the region of £100million in their site over the last 5 years so you will gain exposure to up-to-date technology.

Excellent benefits: Despite the role being a 12 month fixed term contract the company the company will provide you with an extensive benefits package including a 7% pension contribution, cash plan healthcare, and 25 days of holiday (plus Bank Holidays).

What Will Your Project Engineer Role Include?

  • Ensuring a clear understanding of the job requirements to make certain the project is delivered to the correct standard and quality.
  • Making sure all mandatory documentation is prepared and signed off (RAMS, Permit to Work, Technical Validations, Change Management, etc.)
  • Taking ownership of specific tasks as directed
  • Ensuring RAMS are obtained and reviewed from 3rd party suppliers ahead of the commencement of the works.
  • Making sure all relevant parties have been communicated to and are aware of upcoming tasks.
  • Collecting verification data following the completion of tasks as required.
  • Raising any change management controls that may be required.
  • Supervising contractors to ensure all site rules and permit controls are adhered to.
  • Ensuring all relevant Health & Safety protocols and procedures are being followed.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Previous experience contributing to the successful outcome of projects.
  • An engineering-related qualification in a field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, etc.
  • Experience managing contractors and liaising with third-party companies.
  • Knowledge of RAMs and permit to work processes.

What's In It for You?

A salary of up to £41,500 (dependent on experience) + pension, 25 days holidays + Bank Holidays, cash plan healthcare, etc.

Working Hours:

Hours of work are 8am-5pm Monday to Friday. Some flexibility may be needed to start earlier or finish later on occasion in line with project requirements.
