Sous Chef for Private Hospital in Chelsea

Job Type: Permanent: Full-Time 41hrs any five days out of seven -include weekend working. The shifts are allocated on a rota base

Location: Heart of London- Chelsea

Salary: £31,848

Shift patterns: 06.00 – 14.30 and10.30 – 19.00.

We are recruiting an experienced Sous Chef to start in August for one of our Client in Private hospital in Chelsea, which is a historic institution providing sheltered accommodation (Long Wards) and full nursing care for approx. 300 retired soldiers,

The ideal candidate must have the experience working in a similar setting and experience Tasks

  • To be responsible to the Head Chef for food production to the highest of standards and follow those ensuring that all legislation is adhered to in respect of food hygiene, health and safety, allergen information and mandatory training.
  • To work for external and internal events held -approx. 20 a year
  • To be responsible for the training of all staff under his/her control in accordance with current legislation and take responsibility for own Health & Safety and for that of those affected by the post holder's acts or omissions.
  • To assist the Head Chefs with the responsibility of the serviceability of all kitchens related fixed & non-fixed equipment.
  • To ensure the delivery of food and non-food items are carried out smoothly.
  • To manage Performance Reviews of staff allocated under your position and keep detailed records for future appraisals and reviews.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous experience of supervising a team within a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of Food hygiene, COSHH and manual handling.
  • Experience of catering for events.
  • NVQ3 or equivalent
  • Intermediate Food Handling certificate
