School Chef Required at one of our schools in Barnsley
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 9am till 2pm
This role will consist of cooking the meals for 170 pupils, complete ordering of food and complete all the compliance paperwork in the kitchen fully.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts
- The cook will prepare breakfast (toast/crumpets and drinks) Mid-morning snacks (wraps or sandwiches, students order on arrival) Finally then a hot lunch.
- Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
What we are looking for:
- Experience of working in a catering/ busy kitchen environment and complying with health and safety standards.
- Experience working as part of a team and using your own initiative.
- Effective customer service skills and being able to work to high standards.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
Requirements
- To have or be willing to obtain a DBS certificate on the update service.
- Provide a minimum of two references to cover the last 24 months of employment.
- Right to work in the UK.
