Are you an experienced HR Advisor looking for an exciting new opportunity? Our client, a dynamic organisation based in Wickford, is seeking a talented professional to join their team on a 10 month contract basis. If you are passionate about recruitment, employee engagement, and providing exceptional HR support, this role is perfect for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Utilise your recruitment expertise to create and manage online advertising, focusing on direct hires and optimising the use of agencies where possible.
  • Collaborate with preferred suppliers for recruitment, negotiating fees when necessary.
  • Screen and shortlist candidates through telephone interviews, coordinating interview schedules with managers.
  • Keep the recruitment tracker updated and inform management of recruitment progress regularly.
  • Monitor the recruitment budget, ensuring it is not exceeded.
  • Prepare offer letters, induction packs, and contracts, utilising digital platforms to reduce paper usage.
  • Work closely with the planning team and supervisors to organise comprehensive employee induction plans.
  • Ensure new starters complete compliance requirements, including right to work checks and obtaining references.
  • Manage the onboarding process from offer to start date, coordinating equipment, uniform, and training requirements.
  • Engage employees by updating them regularly about events, hosting charity days, and sending emails regarding special dates like mental health awareness week.
  • Take the lead in organising Summer and Christmas parties, including venue hire, entertainment, and hotel booking for field employees.
  • Arrange and distribute gift cards to field employees.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary procedures, and dismissal communication.
  • Maintain the HR database, including recording and monitoring unplanned absences.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety Advisor to source relevant training providers and book training for employees.
  • Ensure employee personal information is kept confidential and up to date in accordance with data protection regulations.
  • Support the administration of annual pay reviews, employee surveys, and HR statistics.
  • Manage employee benefits administration.
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files, adhering to data protection regulations.
  • Process employee changes, variations to contracts, and leavers' paperwork, calculating final pay accurately.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar HR & Recruitment Advisor role.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment processes and best practises.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Organisational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using HR databases and digital platforms.
