Accounts Assistant

We're seeking a motivated Accounts Assistant, with a self-starter attitude to join a growing company based in Fareham.

As you step into this role, you'll be joining an exciting and a collaborative environment. Your responsibilities will include management of the purchase ledger processes, liaising with operations team, matching PO numbers where necessary. In addition, you will be responsible for monthly follow up of all creditor accounts, requesting statements and setting up bi-weekly payment runs. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Daily purchase ledger data entry onto the accounting system
  • Handling external vendor and customer queries
  • Matching, batching and coding invoices and setting up bi-weekly payment runs
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards on a daily/weekly basis
  • Raising sales invoices and credit control where necessary, ensuring month end aged debtor list is accurate and up to date
  • Supporting with month end tasks as required

What you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Senior Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant / Accounts Administrator / Finance Administrator / Assistant Accountant / Purchase Ledger Clerk
  • Ideally AAT qualified, but not essential
  • Good understanding of Netsuite is desirable
