Finance Assistant (Temp) Time Commitment: 14 Hours per week
£22,308 - 23,289 (Pro-rata) Based at Newcastle office (occasionally some home working)
An award winning local charity are looking to appoint a part time Finance Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis completing 14 hours a week for a 3 month duration with possible extension. The charity has offices in Newcastle and Sunderland and operates across Tyne and Wear. Last year it had a turnover of £1.4m, employs 26 people and supported over 2,000 beneficiaries with the help of approximately 100 volunteers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and administration of bank accounts and associated spend
- Processing invoices, including liaising directly with suppliers and customers, and establishing payment schedules with commissioners and funders
- Managing and monitoring transactions through the company bank accounts, and monitoring account and nominal code balances as necessary
- Management of petty cash floats and company credit cards
- Reconciliations via Sage
- Manage and administrate payroll function including: preparation of monthly payroll summary for senior management sign off, inputting payment figures into SAGE payroll following signoff and utilisation of SAGE payroll functions for manual adjustments.
- Preparation and monitoring of management accounts for each budget, identifying variance and anomalies though meeting with budget holders
- Preparation of monthly accounts and balance sheet
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience of working within the charity sector. (Desirable)
- Experience of book-keeping (Essential)
- Experience of SAGE 50 Accounts (Essential)
- Experience of SAGE 50 Payroll (Essential)
- Experience with Microsoft Office packages (Essential)
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English 9 to 4 (A to C) or equivalent (Essential)
- Minimum English language proficiency at Level 2 or equivalent (Essential)
