Our client based in Bedfordshire, is looking for a Senior Designer. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy studio working across a range of graphic design disciplines and will be comfortable working on the simplest and smallest tasks to the largest, more complex projects (film storyboards, infographics, large brochures etc.).
The Senior Designer will be able to manage their own time and will also be able to delegate to other designers in the team and to manage and check their work, ensuring our high standards are met. They will also be able to brief freelancers (mainly animators and other film people) on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design studio of three other designers plus one working from home.
- Inspire the creative team and show good leadership.
- Translate a brief into a show-stopping graphic design solutions that will wow the client.
- Able to manage their time effectively to get the job done before the deadline.
- Be able to communicate confidently with clients - mainly via Teams / Zoom - and to inspire confidence in their ability to delivery.
- Deliver a wide variety of projects including print, digital, film and animation.
- To constantly be aware of their systems and processes and to come up with improvements and solve problems as they arise.
- To be flexible enough to work late and do what it takes to finish a project on time.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Fluent in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
- Excellent in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Some experience in Adobe PremierPro (and ideally Adobe AfterEffects).
- Be self-motivated, have a positive 'can do' approach and superb attention to detail.
- Be able to write in impeccable English as all of our communication with clients is via email.
- Be equally comfortable working on professionalising a PowerPoint presentation or a corporate brochure.
- Be able to inspire and encourage other designers and to thrive under pressure.
- Be able to manage the admin for design projects (to maintain track of times and costs).
- Not be afraid to ask questions.
- To take responsibility for each project and manage it from start to finish, bringing in others as required.
- Great sense of humour and exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects at once, often under time pressure.
