Our Client is looking for a Planning Manager to plan and manage the inbound flows of inventory for their UK and international business. You will take ownership of the consolidated customer demand plan, effectively translating it into timely supplier production forecasts and fully managing the whole supplier purchasing process. Controlling UK stock holding in line with targets whilst maintaining strong service levels is crucial.

Being a key member of the team, you will manage the day-to-day European supplier and 3PL relationships, facilitating the flow of operational information amongst the various internal departments.

This role is perfect for a driven and self-motivated individual who doesn't just raise the issue but also has the solution at hand also. You will thrive in a less formal, fast-paced environment where you need to use your initiative and develop strong positive working relationships with the rest of the UK team.

Main Duties:

  • Manage the full end-to-end process, from demand planning through to customer delivery.
  • Oversee the business finished goods budget.
  • Ensure sufficient inventory is available to satisfy customer demand, delivering market-leading levels of stock availability.
  • Manage the transfer flow of stocks between our European-based supply network and our the warehouse.
  • Supervise one direct report.
  • Effectively manage the product life cycle and minimise stock write-offs.
  • Plan inventory requirements cost-effectively, ensuring targets are maintained.
  • Coordinate the smooth flow of goods into the warehouse with 3rd party logistics providers.
  • Lead the UK business's IBP (integrated business planning) process.
  • Own the monthly creation and submission of supplier forecasts.
  • Manage warehouse capacity planning and forecast scheduling.
  • Reconcile all warehouse stock volumes on a weekly basis.
  • Manage the UK business's purchasing platform.
  • Proactively manage day-to-day UK Supplier relationships.

About You:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Commercially aware and comfortable managing budgets.
  • High degree of literacy, numeracy, and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for working with databases and office systems, Oracle ERP experience desirable.
  • Start-up/SME mindset, able to react and adapt to environments with a high degree of change and pace.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and team-building skills, with proven ability in building effective working relationships.
  • Able to take a holistic view of the impact of your role within a business.
  • Detailed, strategically agile.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.

Desired but not essential:

  • FMCG / food & drink / organic produce buying and cross-border import experience.
  • End-to-end operational skill set with experience shaping processes in a start-up or SME environment.
  • Experience in managing direct reports.
