Bookkeeping Manager XERO - Growing firm!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bookkeeping Manager to join our client, a dynamic and growing mid-sized accounting firm based in Milton Keynes. In this role you will oversee our client's recently outsourced bookkeeping function based in India. You will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining high standards of service for their clients. The Bookkeeping Manager will serve as the main point of contact for clients and will oversee a team of bookkeepers, including two who will remain onsite, in Milton Keynes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the outsourced bookkeeping function in India.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding bookkeeping queries and services.
  • Supervise, train, and review the work of the bookkeeping team, including in-house bookkeepers.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in all bookkeeping activities.
  • Review and ensure the quality of bookkeeping work delivered by the outsourced team.
  • Coordinate with the outsourced team to resolve any issues and ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Maintain and update financial records using Xero.
  • Develop and implement bookkeeping procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the bookkeeping function.
  • Support the wider accounting team as needed.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified or QBE
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeping Manager or in a similar Senior Bookkeeper role in an accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Xero.
  • Excellent understanding of bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • Experience with managing outsourced teams is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional client communication and relationship management skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment.
