Design Engineer - Groundworks required for our client who are a UK wide supplier of Scaffolding, access and groundworks products based out of their Glasgow office.. The company are recruiting for an ambitious Design Engineer with Groundworks or Temporary Works experience to provide a link between the engineering and commercial functions. The Design Engineer will be joining a established team for within a large organisation.
The ideal candidate will have experience of designing temporary works and ideally excavation support. In addition, being ambitious, self-sufficient, and motivated are requirements. You will be joining a team who are pushing the boundaries and continually developing. The Groundworks Engineer will be preparation / checking of temporary works and groundworks designs, attending meetings as well as understanding, and managing key projects, presenting to customers among others.
Design Engineer - Groundworks Position Overview
- Production of temporary works and groundworks designs and drawings.
- Undertaking occasional checking of designs and drawings
- Undertaking Calculations
- Link between engineering and commercial functions.
- Engineering advice and guidance at site or office meetings.
- Building relationships with key customers and individuals.
- Develop new relationships as and when required.
- Learn the effective use of internal systems
- Attend Regional Engineering and Design meetings as required
- Assisting other areas of the business if value can be added
Design Engineer - Groundworks Position Requirements
- Minimum HNC/HND Structural/Civil Engineering
- 2 + years' experience in temporary works or ground works
- The ability to apply knowledge and experience to temporary works solutions
- Willingness to apply engineering judgement and take responsibility
- A basic understanding of legislation such as CDM 2015
- Working knowledge of Design Software's (Support IT / AutoCAD)
- Revit experience desirable but not essential
- A professional manner with excellent communication and people skills
- The candidate must be keen to complete their professional qualifications from the outset a minimum EngTech professional recognition with the ICE / IStructE
