About Us

We are seeking a dedicated School Science Technician to join a caring and hard-working Secondary School in the Rossendale area. This full-time temporary position requires a passionate Technician who can come in and support pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4. The role commences in September 2024, with working hours from 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday

Job Description

As a School Science Technician, you will play a vital role in the delivery of our science curriculum. You will be responsible for preparing materials and equipment for science experiments, maintaining the science laboratory, and ensuring that all safety regulations are adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up equipment and resources for science lessons
  • Maintain the science laboratory, ensuring it is safe and clean
  • Assist teachers during practical lessons
  • Carry out risk assessments for practical activities
  • Order, check and control chemicals and equipment

Qualifications

  • A degree in a science-related field or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
