Robertson Bell are excited to partner with this prominent and well-established public sector organisation to recruit a permanent Management Accountant. In this role, you will assist in the production of management accounts and support two large directorates, playing a pivotal role in addressing budget queries and ensuring smooth month-end processes.

In this Management Accountant role, you will:

  • Assist two Finance Business Partners to support the wider organisation by producing management accounts for two key directorates.
  • Handle set month-end responsibilities, including journal entries, creating reports for Finance Business Partners, reviewing financial data with them, and updating forecasts throughout the month.
  • Assist with statistical and VAT returns, freedom of information queries, and provide support to the Financial Accounting team.
  • Play a key role in the budgeting process and attend budget holder meetings to provide financial insights and support.
  • Gradually develop your skillset and look to transition into a Finance Business Partner role in two years.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a part-qualified CCAB Accountant with the desire to continue your studies in an opportunity that offers study support.
  • Understand month-end processes and have exposure to the production of accruals, prepayments and deferred income.
  • Be enthusiastic, driven and happy to embrace change and innovation as you support stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders with varying levels of seniority.
  • Be a proficient user of excel and able to perform functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP's and write formulas.
