School HR Officer

I'm delighted to be supporting a local Trust with the recruitment of a Senior HR Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Start date: June/July 2024 (or sooner subject to reference and DBS checks)

Salary: PO1 SCP 27-30 (£35,745- £38,223)

Shift timings: 8am-4pm Monday- Friday

Location: Bradford

Full-time and permanent

Your responsibilities will include,

  • Providing high quality HR support in accordance with the Trust's ‘People First' strategy
  • Delivering a market leading operational support service on a range of HR and payroll queries
  • Delivering outstanding customer service to key stakeholders
  • Key contact for staff in cluster schools for all matters relating to HR, responding where appropriate
  • Responsible for new starter checks, and maintaining a compliant SCR in line with statutory requirements
  • Responding to telephone and email enquiries
  • Use of Microsoft programmes including; Word, Excel and Powerpoint to create notices, spreadsheets, and record correspondence
  • Monitoring long-term sickness, leave, and supporting colleagues with return to work
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records
  • Project work and data entry
  • Use of HR and attendance registers such as SIMS and Arbor, collate and report on HR statistics as required

What we're looking for,

  • Experience in a similar role in education is preferred but not essential, provided you have transferrable HR experience
  • A highly motivated individual with strong communication and organisational skills
  • Someone who can work collaboratively and independently
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (we can support applicants with this if a check isn't held)
