  • Overtime - up to 1 hour per day expected to be covered as part of the management team over this and any weekend working paid in line with the companies overtime policy.

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Planner/ Scheduler who will play a vital role in the smooth operation of their workshop. Within this role you will be responsible for all the planning and booking of all production work at their facility, ensuring an efficient work flow through the workshop and adherence to agreed time frames and schedules for deadlines. It is key to have an extensive understanding of the production processes and to have the ability to manage schedules effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Book-in and plan all production work, liaising with the workshop supervisor to ensure a clear understanding of the production process and job flow through the workshop.
  • Customer Interaction: Report and quote customers on production work, actively up-selling services where appropriate.
  • Work Issuance: Issue work to production staff, clearly outlining expectations and providing necessary explanations to ensure understanding of the required work. Liaising with the workshop supervisor for quality checks and specific check points and instructions as required.
  • Monitoring Systems: Oversee the Tee card and Clock in systems, especially for project, one-off jobs, or special work, ensuring accurate job time tracking.
  • Customer and Supplier Liaison: Interact with customers and suppliers via the trade counter when required.
  • Parts Coordination: Work with the Production Buyer to ensure timely availability of parts, correctly located and ready for workshop staff when needed.
  • Sales Forecasting: Provide regular sales forecasts to the Engineering Manager and HESL directors.
  • Documentation: Ensure all supporting workshop paperwork is fully completed and costed accurately.
  • Software Utilisation: Use company software to book-in production work and monitor project progress.
  • Logistics Coordination: Arrange all deliveries and collections efficiently.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure all vehicle servicing requirements (services, MOTs, etc.) are met as planned by the office.
  • Team Support: Provide support and guidance to workshop staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
