Acorn by SYNERGIE is searching for a Project Engineer to join our client, a manufacturer based in Wigan, Greater Manchester.
Reporting directly to the Process Safety Manager, the purpose of the role is to plan and implement mechanical projects at 2 manufacturing sites. Generate proposals and establish project goals in collaboration with the site management team. Suggesting change and keeping stakeholders up to date.
Main duties will include:
- Manage lifecycle of project including engineering design, procurement, planning and installation.
- Creation of designs to solve specific issues which includes creating equipment specifications.
- Identify, plan and manage requirements, cost, timings, resources and potential risk.
- Create and/or update engineering drawings as required.
- Contribute to the verification and signing off of designs.
- Manage external contractors.
- Ensure compliance with codes, policies, practices and performance standards.
It is essential that the successful candidate has a degree in an appropriate discipline and previous experience working in a similar role. Relevant mechanical project management experience. Technically proficient in mechanical design and maintenance of equipment including agitators, reactors and pumps. Management systems experience including permit to work and management of change. Experience of working on a COMAH site is highly desirable.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
