Systems And Tools Developer

The Systems & Tools team are looking for a Software Developer to be a key part of MBDA's Customer Support digital transformation journey.
Specifically, the role will focus on application development for customer engagement, accessible through multiple platforms including mobile. Additionally you will be working with bespoke application development for business optimisation.

Job Title: Systems And Tools Developer

Salary: £43,000 - £63,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 1day per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

  • You will be developing new or improving existing software applications that are used to manage customer support activities utilising software best practices (referential, code review, etc.)
  • You will be helping the Customer Support management team to improve data analysis techniques
  • You will be capable of creating and managing suitable and comprehensive project documentation, user guides, test plans and work packages for projects and works orders
  • You will be comfortable and capable to act as lead developer on projects, carrying out the necessary activities of the software development lifecycle
  • You will be working with a multi-national team and have opportunities for international travel and development of language skills

What we're looking for from you:

Essential;

  • You hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in software development and/or good experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Knowledge in Back-end & front-end programming languages (Microsoft SQL, C#, java/javascript, Powershell)
  • You will have the ability to communicate in different ways effectively with both IT experts and non-technical staff in the use of their specific IT tools & applications
  • Ability to manage and set own priorities in order to meet objectives
  • Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features
  • Troubleshooting and debugging applications

Desirable;

  • Design and development of multi-device applications (PC, tablet, mobile phone)
  • Ability to develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
  • You have experience in Agile process, CI/CD and/or DevOps.
  • Experience and appreciation of challenges when working with international teams
