Merlin Helicopter Force Support Coordinator RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall Full time, Permanent 38 hours per week- Monday- Friday Competitive salary plus benefits

Serco are recruiting for a Support Coordinator to join the Merlin Helicopter Force (MHF) team based at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall. This pivotal role forms part of the Aircraft Engineering Support and Airfield Services (AESAS) team and will manage the requirements for Aircraft Support Equipment (ASE)/Aircraft Specialist Support Equipment (ASSE)/Helicopter Underslung Lifting Equipment (HUSLE), modular Support and tooling to support MHF tasking.

This role will also oversee the maintenance and control of ASE/ASSE/HUSLE, modular support and tooling Articles in Use (AinU's) and act as the MHF lead Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solution (JAMES) Officer, Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor on-site.

Main Accountabilities:

  • The SME assisting MHF units with the preparation and recovery of Squadron mobile equipment, including booking, transportation, ISO container packing and transport of dangerous goods.
  • The SME for all ASE/ASSE/HUSLE, Modular Support and Tooling, closely liaising with Support Senior Rates (SSRs) providing advice and mentoring (including risk and COSHH assessments) to maintain Squadron Operational Capability (OC).
  • The MHF SME for the Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solution (JAMES) to ensure optimum planning/forecasting and maintenance, servicing and defect rectification activities.
  • Conduct Mobile Scissor Lift and Maritime Staging instructional duties when requested by MHF Squadrons.
  • Hold AinU's for ASE/ASSE/HUSLE acting as loan holder iaw Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) and the Defence Logistics Framework and conducting defective stock investigations as required.
  • Liaise with the MHF engineering team in all areas regarding Joint Helicopter Command (JHC), Merlin Delivery Team (DT) or Navy Command concerning ASE/ASSE/HUSLE.

What you'll need to do the role:

  • Must have 5 years' experience in military/industry airworthiness environment equivalent
  • Recent Merlin HM MK2 experience at MAM-P Authority Level G
  • Write-access to RESOLVE, JAMES, GOLDesp, MJDI and CIETP electronic systems
  • FG011SSC or equivalent
  • Trained to conduct servicing on ASE/ASSE/GSE/HUSLE equipment.
  • Certified to deliver Mobile Scissor Lift and Maritime Staging training
  • Ability to be a trained ISO packer
  • To be able to be a certified as a Risk Assessor
  • Be certified as a Tool Controller
  • Completed all mandatory MoD, NCHQ and local training courses iaw extant policy and regulation pertinent to civilian contract personnel working within the RNAS Culdrose Military Maintenance Organisation (MMO)
  • A good working knowledge of the following: Health and Safety, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices, Engineering and Asset Management Systems
  • Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course
  • An understanding and proven experience of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance iaw Regulatory and Legislative requirements (MAA and MAOS)
  • Good people management experience
  • A good capability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining operational outputs
