Are you ready to take your procurement skills to the next level? This role as a Buyer and Procurement Project Coordinator offers a unique chance to manage key supplier relationships and contribute significantly within a dynamic, global manufacturing business based in Ledbury.

This Buyer role is a permanent position working Monday to Friday 8am-5pm offering a salary of £28-32k per annum based on experience with the opportunity to work from home 1 day per week following a successful 6 month probationary period.

As Buyer reporting into the Procurement Manager working in a team of 4 others you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and cost-effective execution of customer orders, directly influencing the company's success with your efforts in cost-saving measures and supplier management being truly acknowledged and valued.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and lead supplier selection strategies and manage existing suppliers through audits and KPI metrics.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure sufficient cashflow, payment terms, stock holding, packaging, handling, and compliance.
  • Conduct supplier visits and audits to maintain high performance.
  • Perform quarterly supplier reviews, negotiating service and costs to meet company objectives.
  • Create and support Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with suppliers.
  • Manage daily system updates, vendor card management, and pricing breaks.
  • Resolve invoice queries and conduct benchmarking exercises for cost efficiency.
  • Plan inventory considering sales demand, stock safety levels, and cashflow.
  • Introduce new suppliers following controlled processes, including QC and ethical audits.
  • Draft supplier and service agreements, and maintain commodity strategies.
  • Execute cost-saving plans where necessary.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years in a Buyer/ Procurement role or 5 years in a supply chain role.
  • Understanding of Procurement code of conduct and global practices.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems like MS Dynamics Navision or SAP would be ideal but training can be given.
  • CIPS qualification is desirable or the ambition to work towards this would be great
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and analyse data/ KPIs.
  • Comfortable working under pressure with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Full clean driving licence
