What is the purpose of the Maintenance Lead?
- Co-ordinate daily facilities and administrative activities to ensure the safe,
effective operation of the Barnstaple site.
- Support the Site Infrastructure, to provide the delivery of facilities services to a variety of teams within a busy
office and manufacturing environment, to meet business needs.
- Schedule facilities and maintenance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve facilities and processes.
What are the responsibilities of the Maintenance Lead?
- Management of work activities of facilities and support personnel as well as
perform facilities and maintenance activities (hands on repairs, painting, electrical
work, plumbing etc.) as required.
- Arranging/monitoring facilities maintenance and service visits to ensure all are
completed on time and statutory work is prioritised.
- Raising/requesting relevant paperwork for service visits including purchase
requisitions, visitor/contractor paperwork and relevant EHS documentation.
- Proactively manage cross-functional communication and information flow to
ensure our client delivers best facilities and maintenance services to the site.
- Assistance in the management of sub-contractors and contractors, including
refurbishment and new build projects.
- Filing equipment user manuals, calibration results and records ensuring these are
kept up to date at all times.
- Filing and updating facilities risk assessments, safe operating procedures,
COSHH data sheets and relevant EHS documentation.
- Ensure that the facilities team operates in accordance with any HSE policies and
procedures.
- Providing support to the HSE Manager as and when required.
- Any other reasonable task to meet business needs
What skills and experience will the Maintenance Lead have?
To be successful you will be highly customer focused with excellent technical
knowledge/skills and a keen eye for detail.
- You will have experience in performing minor works, such as plumbing, carpentry,
elecrical works and general maintenance activities.
- You will have experience in carrying out risk assessments, developing
procedures and maintaining documentation/records to a high standard.
- Experience of managing a small team.
Experience in facilities, maintenance or similar industry - including 'hands-on'
maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical works, etc.
- Excellent communiiation skills and ability to thrive under pressure and deliver
against deadlines.
- Diligent and methodical with attention to detail.
- Accustomed to repetitive work, but able to be flexible to meet work demands.
- Highly organised with good time management skills and able to prioritise tasks.
- Good level of written and verbal communication and experience of using Excel,
Word and Outlook.
- Proactive approach to EHS and promoting safety working at all times.
Desirable skills but not essential
Experience of conducting risk assessments and developing safe working
procedures.
- Experience of using Teams, Salesforce and Epicor.
- Experience of leading a team to bring out the best in people.
