Associate - Transaction Solutions - London, UK Aon's Mergers & Acquisitions team provides both a wide range of transaction solutions and deal advisory services to clients undertaking M&A activity across the UK and EMEA. The Pan-European team has grown rapidly in the last four years with over 85 colleagues in the UK and a total of 250 across EMEA. The team has a diverse range of backgrounds including investment bankers, Big 4, lawyers, actuaries, plus technical specialists including insurance. The team's focus is across two core strategies. Our Transactions Solutions (TS) capabilities deliver structured risk transfer instruments covering Warranty & Indemnity insurance and a range of risk transfer solutions for tax, litigation plus other contingent risks. In addition, we arrange credit/bonding solutions to enable clients to optimise their capital structure. We also provide specialist Transaction Advisory Services (TAS), with specialist capability in Risk and Insurance, Financial Lines, Cyber Security, Human Capital, Intellectual Property and ESG. What the day will look like Day to day delivery of broking placements – including client and insurer engagement, preparation of insurer submissions, drafting of client reports, project managing the underwriting process, and handling policy binding. Daily communication with the other members of the Aon deal team working on the relevant placement to discuss next steps, progress etc. Post transaction handling of invoicing and collating post-deal marketing collateral. Support the management of stakeholder relationships (with client and adviser relationships being key to business generation). Attend external networking events, conferences, and seminars and contribute to the team's business development efforts. Develop own awareness of the broader AMATS capabilities to confidently convey to stakeholders. Assist with proposals/pitches and managing the team's pipeline. Working with Aon colleagues, drive the development of new innovative solutions including developing valuable and timely content applicable to both clients and the broader AMATS team. Significant scope for career progression, in the short term within the transaction solutions team and longer team within the AMATs division. How this opportunity is different We are a dynamic and diverse team of M&A professionals, supporting clients across a wide range of transactions including typical buy and sell-side deals, carve-outs, distressed M&A plus secondary market deals. Our mix of deals includes both UK domestic and international transactions covering the full valuation range from the largest, most complex multi-billion deals to sub-£50m transactions. Skills and experience that will lead to success. W&I / Tax / or general Transaction Services experience from within Audit / Accountancy / Legal or other analogous industries. Knowledge of the London insurance market is beneficial, but not essential. Project management responsibility within current or previous roles. Experience in developing and managing relationships (internal and/or external) and attending networking events. Experience in producing written outputs and strong attention to detail.
