Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Accounting Manager to join their dynamic Finance Controllership team. This role offers an attractive salary range of £95,000 - £115,000 and the flexibility of being home-based with occasional travel to London. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to address complex, significant and one-off accounting issues impacting the entire organisation as well as individual segments/divisions. This role requires a technically minded individual who is delivery-focused and possesses strong communication skills.

What you'll do:
As a Senior Technical Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in addressing complex and significant accounting matters that impact the entire organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve handling various aspects of technical accounting including revenue recognition, hedge accounting, share-based payments among others. You will also be responsible for reviewing financial statements and updating the group's accounting policy manual. Your role will require regular interaction with senior individuals, auditors and legal advisors.
- Address complex, significant and one-off accounting issues involving IFRS, FRS 102 and FRS 101
- Handle revenue recognition, hedge accounting/financial instruments, share-based payments, lease accounting, acquisitions/disposals accounting
- Manage goodwill impairment and transitioning subsidiaries from FRS 102 to FRS 101
- Review financial statements and update group accounting policy manual
- Resolve business issues related to application of accounting principles
- Interact regularly with senior individuals, auditors and legal advisors
What you bring:
As a Senior Technical Accounting Manager, you bring a wealth of Technical Accounting knowledge with an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills which enable you to present information in a concise manner to senior management. Your strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders are testament to your interpersonal skills. You hold a degree or equivalent education level along with an ACA certification.
- ACA qualified, with significant post-qualification experience (including Big 4 and industry experience)
- Strong knowledge of accounting policies and technical accounting matters
- Ability to work to deadlines and communicate complex issues in a simple manner
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to present information in a concise manner to senior management
- Strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Degree or equivalent education level
- Experience in technical accounting/accounting policy, particularly IFRS
