Legal Practice Manager property law

An exciting new role has arisen for a Practice Manager at this highly respected boutique London based residential & Conveyancing Solicitors. As Practice Manager (and COLP) you will be a member of the board and will report directly to the CEO of the firm. As a Director of the firm you will line manage the fee earners, finance and admin teams. The office currently has around 15 total staff but as their caseload continues to grow the firm is expanding.

As Practice Manager you will need to have at least 7-10 years experience PQE withing property law and whilst you will need to be legally qualified you are note expected to be a fee earner.

As a senior member of the management team you will have responsibility for efficient and fast completion of property matters ensuring regulations and requirements are met. You will also have overall responsibility for the operation of the three legal teams and ensuring their financial targets are met. You may have to, on occasion, assist in the resolution of legal issues and of course assist with property matters and queries relating to their very high-profile clientele.

On a day to day basis you will have oversight of the administration, compliance, and finance functions liaising with Legal Team leaders, the Admin Manager and Accountant. As COLP (Compliance Officer for Legal Practice ) you will maintain company procedures and policies in order to meet SRA and CQS requirements and you will hold the role of Senior Reporting Officer (SRO) for CQS.

This is a varied role and will include the review of documents relating to exchange and completion ensuring compliance with company policy and follow up to ensure post-completion has been successfully achieved. In addition you will be liaising with clients to ensure a successful outcome is achieved but also be the first point of contact if there are client complaints. As a Company Director you will participate in Board and Management meetings as required and deputise for the CEO as well as be given full signatory on bank accounts as well as approving payments and liaising with the Accountants. You will very much take the legal lead and allocate projects to the wider team as well as monitor and advise accordingly. As a result this will coincide with your monitoring the monthly and yearly financial targets.

As the Practice Manager you will be expected to facilitate career development of the legal team members and carry out team appraisals and highlight training opportunities. Experience required :
