Digital Account Director

Walker and Sloan are working with a well known digital marketing agency in Birmingham, as they are keen to bring on board a Digital Account Director to the team on a full time basis.

The Role

  • Form an integral part of the digital department leading on digital campaigns and cultivating relationships to ensure they are growing and profitable.
  • Oversee campaigns across Paid Social, Display and PPC.
  • Implement and optimise digital campaigns where necessary, suggesting ways to improve efficiencies for clients.
  • Keep up to date with new media opportunities across digital channels.
  • Effectively manage and nurture client teams to deliver exceptional levels of service.
  • Oversee the strategic planning and buying of digital media, presenting, and selling plans to clients and agencies.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities for both existing and future clients.
  • Work closely with account management team to deliver campaigns that reach clients target audience and objectives in a timely fashion.
  • Develop strong relationships with media owners ensuring buying efficiencies across the agency and value for money on behalf of clients
  • Maintain a detailed awareness of relevant media research and market trends for client accounts and developments in the wider digital advertising and communications industry.
  • Deliver end-to-end digital campaigns from client briefings, attending meetings, to overseeing campaign performance pre- and post-delivery.
  • Represent the business on all levels externally, building and maintaining excellent relationships with roster agencies
  • Manage budgets and monitor profitability of digital accounts to hit agency targets, ensuring month end billing is completed and all PO's accounted for.
  • Lead on recruitment and selection decisions.
  • Manage the professional development of team members including appraisals and ensure agreed actions are carried out by the agency.

Skills Required

  • Experience in Paid Social and Google Ads.
  • Experience in GoogleAnalytics to a high standard.
  • Experience in tracking and pixel implementation.
  • Possess both a strategic and commercial mindset.
  • Personable and adept at building relationships both internally and externally.
  • In-depth understanding of media landscape with the ability to strategize across all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle a multitude of campaigns and have a sharp eye for detail
  • Decisive nature with strong problem-solving skills
  • Good motivator, skilled at giving immediate and honest specific praise
  • Experience of managing junior to mid-level members of a team.
  • Prepared to take credit but also shoulder responsibility for own and others work.
  • Knowledgeable about trends in media research, media landscape and how translate into new opportunities.
  • Exceptional time management skills, self-starter, and complete finisher.
  • Effective negotiator and trader, adept at closing sales and increasing profits

Work Experience

  • Must have worked within an agency environment or at a media owner for at least 5 + years within a digital-focused role.
