Timetable, Sims & Data Manager

The Role:

As the Timetable, Sims & Data Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of data management within the school. This includes maintaining and managing the school's Management Information System (SIMS), ensuring data accuracy and integrity, producing reports for senior leadership, and supporting staff with data analysis to inform teaching and learning strategies. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that data is used effectively to enhance student outcomes and support the school's continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Maintain and manage the school's SIMS system, ensuring accurate and timely input of student data, assessment results, attendance records, and other key information.
  • Reporting: Produce regular and ad-hoc reports for senior leadership, governors, and external bodies, including data analysis to support school improvement initiatives.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all data management practices comply with data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR) and school policies.
  • Support and Training: Provide training and support to staff on data systems and procedures, ensuring efficient use of data across the school.
  • Analysis: Work closely with the leadership team to analyse data trends and provide insights to inform strategic decisions and improve student outcomes.
  • Exams Management: Oversee the data aspects of the school's exam process, including the input of results and analysis of performance data.

About You:

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with a passion for data and a strong commitment to supporting educational excellence. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience: Proven experience in data management, preferably within an educational setting. Experience with school SIMS systems is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and database management. Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Analytical Thinking: The ability to analyse complex data sets and present findings in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data entry and reporting, ensuring accuracy and integrity at all times.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels.
  • Problem Solving: A proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
