Quality Engineer

Job Description

  • Responsible for Quality of Product Received by "the Customer".
  • Development of clear and concise Quality Practices within business unit
  • Ensure Required Customer, Regulatory and 3rd Part Approvals are met.
  • Contributing to the satisfaction of internal & external customers.
  • Acting as a service and provider of quality techniques to whichever department requires it.
  • Primarily focussing on "The Specific Customer", whilst working with the other BUQE`s in instilling operational quality across the company and utilising best practice.
  • Setting of objectives for the Business to reduce waste and improve throughput, whilst maintaining 100% quality Performance
  • Disposition of NCR's, FAIR approvals, OFI Identification, Customer Issues, Training of Inspection Personnel, Improvement activities (inspection and process related).
  • Effective Control /raising of EQN, FPA's (PAR) DAR's etc. CAR's (supplier issues & improvement activities)
  • Compile and submit FAIR's (Stage 1 /2 – Risk Based) for customer approval (using Visual FAIR)
  • Compilation / monitoring of FMEA, R & R, and PPAP Documentation (incl. acting as PPAP Coordinator)
  • Interface with Internal and External customers & suppliers on quality issues.
  • Contributing to the reduction of scrap, rework, and non-value-added costs.
  • Data capture and analysis, bringing about improvements based upon factual data.
  • Supporting / leading 8D exercises multi-disciplined teams
  • Disposition and management of complaint product via PIR, NOPQE etc.
  • Completion of Internal Product, process, RFT Audits and External Supplier Audits / CAR Follow ups as required.
  • Balancing the needs of the Customer against the Needs of the Business

Quality Engineer

Essential Qualifications/Skills/ Experience

  • You will have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a quality professional.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of SIX SIGMA techniques, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
  • Strong knowledge of General Aerospace and AS9100 C / NADCAP Requirements.
  • Approachable but assertive individual with an organised, methodical and diligent approach to work.
