Assistant Financial Accountant - Fixed Term Contract - About the role

Working as an integral part of the London Finance Team the role will provide assistance with the timely and accurate preparation of management reporting, expenses reporting and regulatory reporting across my client's insurance group in London

Assistant Financial Accountant - Fixed Term Contract - Key duties

The preparation of a wide range of information and reporting completed by the London Finance team.

To extract data from source systems, applying appropriate adjustments transparently and providing outputs and analysis to support the submission of Information.

To maintain and develop control checks to ensure workings are consistent and accurate with underlying data.

To make and recommend process changes and streamline the production of information.

Recording and inputting financial data in SAP (GL Package).

To ensure all information and returns are prepared in a timely manner and complete for review.

Keeping up to date with changes in reporting regimes and assist the implementation of such changes.

Liaison with both internal and external clients including answering queries from external audit team as and when they arise.

Maintenance of procedure manuals for areas of focus.

Preparation of ad-hoc additional returns, sometimes at short notice and involvement in ad hoc projects where necessary

Assistant Financial Accountant - Key requirements

The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or passed their CIMA/ACCA stage 1 with the relevant experience in an accounting role to support this.

Strong mathematical ability.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining a timely response to requests.

Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities and operate various applications at once.

Ability to manipulate, organize and analyse complex data.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a team environment. Approachable and able to convey information, ideas and viewpoints in an appropriate manner to all levels of the organization.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
