Independent Domestic Violence Advisor

Salary: £25,909 - £33,242 per annum pro rata (salary subject to review and dependent on experience)
Hours: 36 per week - working Monday to Friday
Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor to join Clarion's IDVA team on a fixed-term basis until the end of March 2025.

Our IDVA's are crucial to the delivery of high-quality service to the victims of domestic abuse. You will need to be a great team player and be used to responding quickly to risk and the needs of service users.

In this role, you'll manage a caseload of those affected by domestic abuse where there is conflict over child contact. You'll be responsible for identifying and assessing the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist which will enable a dynamic and personal safety plan to meet the individual needs of a client and their family.

You'll have a sound knowledge of current legislation both criminal and civil relating to domestic abuse including data protection and confidentiality. We're looking for people with a good understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on adults and children, including how to use legislation and best practices to safeguard them. Experience in adopting a trauma-informed approach is essential to your client work.

A formal qualification such as IDVA is preferable, however you'll have the opportunity to continue learning to develop your skills as an IDVA. There is an expectation to engage in continued learning to develop your skills.

You must have the ability to travel across North Kent and will be expected to attend meetings, meet clients, attend MARAC, One Stop Shops and work from other offices and police station.
