Experienced Interim HR Consultant, sought for a public sector organisation based in Peterborough for a temporary assignment for a minimum of 3 months, with a possibility of being extended. This role is offered on a hybrid working basis with a minimum of 2 days based in the office.

The HR Consultant role would suit a CIPD level 5 HR professional with a background in employment legislation, change management and HR projects. The HR Consultant will contribute to the delivery of the organisation's people strategy by providing a professional HR service aligned with the current and changing operational and strategic needs and objectives. This role requires someone with extensive TUPE, redundancy and consultation experience.

The HR Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the HR leadership team to develop project plans, coordinate resources, manage budgets, and ensure successful project outcomes
  • Developing detailed project plans, ensuring that clear objectives, timelines, and deliverables are outlined
  • Proactively identifying and addressing potential risks to project success, implementing strategies to minimise the impact
  • Responsibility for managing all aspects of the end-to-end deployment of the project, enabling the delivery of clear business benefits as agreed by the Sponsor and senior management
  • Leading on the TUPE Process
  • Project manage and oversee the TUPE process from start to finish
  • Ensure that the process is moving forward in line with the project deadlines
  • Support managers with casework, performance management, capability, absence management, TUPE and ER cases including complex HR matters and decision making
  • Provide advice and suggest solutions, guiding managers ensuring best practice
  • Assist managers to interpret HR policies and procedures

The ideal HR Consultant will:

  • Have experience of provided sound HR Generalist advice in relation to TUPE, ER, and more
  • Have knowledge and experience working and delivering HR Change Projects
  • Experience of Project Management skills
  • Be qualified to CIPD Level 5 or equivalent

The HR Consultant will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
