SEND Learning Support Assistant 1:1 - START ASAP
5 days a week Leicestershire
Working hours 8:30- 3:30 Monday to Friday

I am recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work 1 to 1 with a child with special educational needs in Foundation stage in a welcoming Leicestershire school.
This role is varied, and the school is looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual, able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.
You will be working to support a SEND pupil under the supervision of the teacher/SENDCO. The school is looking for a flexible yet resilient person with a caring nature who enjoys working with children. Experience with Autism and early years would be an advantage. Changing nappies maybe required.
The successful candidate will:
- be resilient and adaptable
- have excellent communication skills,
- be self-motivated but also works effectively within the support staff team and with teachers and parents.
- enjoy working with children, helping them develop skills and learn effectively.
Are you experienced in :
- Working with a wide range of class teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
- Coaching children on a 1:1 or group basis.
- Accompanying groups on trips.
- Supporting assessment and evidencing learning
- Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
- Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners
- Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability

You will need:
- Competency in English and Maths
- Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualified or above and have experience of working in an early years setting.
- Previous childcare experience.
- a proven ability to work on their own initiative.
- a high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
- the ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
- a can-do attitude.
- a commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
