Accountant
Day Rate: £313 - £400 per day
Contract: Initial 3 - 6 month contract with a view to being extended
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday.
Hybrid Working - at least 2 days in Office
Our client is a local authority in Southwest London looking to recruit an Accountant on an interim contract. Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership to find a suitable candidate.
Role Brief:
To provide financial information and advice to the Head of Finance, Chief Accountant, Team Heads and budget holders in respect of those services within the postholder's responsibilities. You will provide financial support to the Planning, Environmental and Customer Services functions of the Authority.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing the budget performance, prepare the final accounts, and advise to Planning, Environmental and Customer Services functions of the Authority.
To advise the Services Group Accountant and Senior Managers of the implications of new legislation and Codes of Practice concerning services within the postholder's area of responsibility.
To reconcile control accounts within the postholder's area of responsibility, in particular understand and reconcile the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
What we're looking for:
Member or part qualified member of a CCAB Body (preferably CIPFA)
Knowledge/experience of accounting and budgeting processes and frameworks.
Knowledge & experience of organisational policies e.g. Financial Procedures.
