Our client is a global leading designer and manufacturer, typical applications include Gas, Steam and Hydro Turbines, HVAC centrifugal gas compressors, Generators, Gearboxes, Pumps and Motors, Their products offer superior performance and availability along with environmental benefits.

Role Purpose / Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These will include but not limited to:

  • Provide a professional Electrical/Electronic Engineering service to support project requirements
  • To achieve a satisfactory conclusion to allocated projects
  • Provide support as and when necessary to Sales team on new customer enquiries

Key Activities

  • Act as lead electrical technical contact on allocated projects from concept to final sign off
  • Assist with generation and review of technical and commercial proposals
  • Review customer supplied standards and requirements.
  • Generate cabinet project documentation (schematics, manuals, test procedures etc) and application notes.
  • Preparation of internal and external training courses
  • Delivery of internal and external training courses
  • Specification and design of Electrical components and assemblies
  • Liaison with customers regarding electrical/electronic and mechanical interfaces, maintaining good working relationships with customers
  • Validation testing of cabinets/electrical assemblies (In house)
  • To provide technical support to production department for electrical/cabinet systems on AMB projects
  • To provide technical support to the field service group on electrical systems
  • Support of procurement of Electrical components, maintaining good working relationships with suppliers
  • Support training of project engineers (electrical)
  • Provide technical supervision and guidance to project engineers (electrical)
  • Lead certification work on allocated projects, liaising with certification bodies as required
  • Managing the drafting of electrical components and assemblies
  • Managing revision control of electrical drawings and technical manuals
  • Track developments in manufacturing techniques in this and related industries to maintain up to date manufacturing processes
  • Any other duties required by the developing needs of the business
  • Drive Continuous improvements

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in inverter drive systems
  • PLC systems
  • Plant Installation
  • Experience of design for certification for EMC, Machinery's and low voltage Directives
  • Experience of design for certification for hazardous areas

Qualifications:

  • 1st/2:1 Honours Degree in electrical/electronic engineering
