Are you passionate about shaping effective policies and understanding their impact? We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Policy Evaluation Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. In this key role within our Policy function, you will collaborate closely with policy leads, our research and statistics team, and our strategy team to plan, deliver, and learn from evaluating the impacts of gambling policy.

Your Role

As Policy Evaluation Manager, you will design, develop, and implement evaluation plans to measure the impact of our policy interventions. A key focus will be evaluating policy changes from the Government's White Paper - High Stakes: Gambling Reform for the Digital Age - and shaping the Gambling Commission's long-term strategy for policy evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Evaluation Processes: Ensure clear and effective articulation and execution of our evaluation processes, retaining and applying learning to inform future policy development.
- Managing Evaluation Projects: Plan, design, procure, and oversee evaluation activities, applying critical thinking to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
- Collaboration: Build strong working relationships internally and externally, working with colleagues in Policy, Research and Statistics, Programme Management Office, Communications, and external stakeholders.
- Communication: Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and other outputs, effectively communicating outcomes to a variety of audiences.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

- Evaluation Expertise: Understanding of various evaluation frameworks and methodologies, with experience in developing and delivering evaluation strategies in complex environments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skills in stakeholder mapping and engagement, with a proven track record of managing relationships successfully.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to juggle priorities and deliverables with excellent organisational skills.
- Communication: Experience in producing concise, coherent communications for evaluation outputs.
- Procurement and Contract Management: Experience in procurement and contract management.
- Team Leadership: Capability to mobilise, motivate, guide, and instruct multidisciplinary teams and influence senior colleagues.

Desirable:

- Experience in a policy and/or regulatory environment.
- Familiarity with matrix management.
- Budget management skills.
