Hays are partnered with a Global Leading Company, who currently support the majority of hospitals in the UK.We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team, working out of the Royal Surrey Hospital.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the installation of electrical wiring, controls, and power distribution systems for new construction and renovation projects within the hospital
- Conduct regular inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on electrical systems such as backup generators, transformers, motors, lighting, and power supplies
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with hospital equipment and systems in a timely manner to minimize downtime
- Ensure hospital electrical systems comply with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations such as the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Develop and implement lockout/tagout procedures to ensure electrical safety during maintenance and repairs
- Analyze electrical load requirements and recommend upgrades or changes to increase system efficiency and capacity as needed
- Coordinate with other trades such as HVAC, plumbing, and biomedical during construction and maintenance projects

- City & Guilds Level 2 Preferably Level 3
- 18th
Edition
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in healthcare facilities
- Extensive knowledge of electrical theory, calculations, codes, and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
This role is single site and does not require you to drive
