Job Title: Planning Manager

Penguin recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading housebuilder committed to delivering high-quality homes across the UK. Due to growth they are seeking a skilled Planning Manager to join a dynamic team in Peterborough.
Role Overview: As the Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning process for our residential developments. You will be responsible for managing planning applications, liaising with local authorities, and ensuring that all projects comply with regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our developments are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications for residential developments.
- Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure successful planning outcomes.
- Provide strategic planning advice to the development team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Monitor changes in planning legislation and policy, ensuring that all developments remain compliant.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including design, land acquisition, and construction, to facilitate smooth project delivery.
- Prepare and present reports on planning progress and issues to senior management.
- Assist in identifying and assessing new land opportunities from a planning perspective.
- Manage planning appeals, including the preparation of necessary documentation and representation at hearings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) is desirable.
- Proven experience in the private sector.
- Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and procedures.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
