A secondary school in Eccles is looking to appoint a reliable and dedicated School Caretaker to join our team, starting 4th November 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
?? Position: School Caretaker
?? Start Date: 4th November 2024
? Hours: 36 hours per week, all year round (Please note: Hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the school, including holiday cover and school events)
?? Contract: Temporary (with potential to become permanent for the right candidate)
?? Role Overview:
As a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring that the school is well-maintained, clean, safe, and secure at all times. You will perform a variety of tasks to support the smooth day-to-day running of the school, including:
- General maintenance and repairs across the school premises
- Ensuring the safety and security of the building and grounds
- Opening and closing the school, including for out-of-hours events
- Supporting school events and holiday cover by adapting your hours when necessary
- Maintaining cleanliness and performing routine inspections of facilities
- Liaising with contractors and ensuring health and safety regulations are followed
?? Requirements:
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Previous experience in a caretaker or maintenance role (preferably in a school or similar environment)
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures
- Basic skills in building repairs and maintenance
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and contractors
- A proactive attitude towards keeping the school environment clean, safe, and welcoming
