We are seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This position requires a proactive, patient, and empathetic individual who is committed to making a positive impact in students' lives. This role is within a SEN school and the children will display challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student progress.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior.
- Participate in professional development and training related to SEMH.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
