We are supporting a local community secondary comprehensive with appointing a Teacher of Music to their School on a permanent basis.

They are proud of our award-winning Orchestra and Chorelli, which perform frequently at The Venue and various community events. Their students regularly participate in the Milton Keynes Festival of the Arts, where they have achieved significant recognition.

Job Description: They are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Performance Coordinator to join our Performing Arts team. The successful candidate will play a key role in organising and promoting music performances, including lunchtime concerts, annual events like Arts on a Summer Evening, and community engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong ability to create and delivery inclusive and engaging lessons across KS3-post-16.
  • Coordinate rehearsals and performances for the Walton High Orchestra and Chorelli.
  • Organize and promote music events, including the Milton Keynes Festival of the Arts and Arts on a Summer Evening.
  • Facilitate lunchtime concerts and other performance opportunities within the school.
  • Collaborate with professional practitioners for Advanced Learning Days and enrichment activities.
  • Support Year 9 Music Students in their project with a professional composer, culminating in a performance by the Consone Quartet.
  • Arrange workshops and learning opportunities with esteemed organizations such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Glyndebourne.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Music, Performing Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience in coordinating music performances and events.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and external professionals.
  • Passion for music education and fostering student talent.

Facilities:

  • 7 Practice Rooms (Piano, Drum, and Guitar suites) at both Campus.
  • 2 fully equipped drama studios.
  • Dance studio with a sprung wooden floor, full-length mirrors, and bar.
  • Dedicated ICT room with Cubase and Sibelius Software.
